Head On by Patricia - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

My eye bags are deeper than the Atlantic Ocean. I type slowly with no emotion on my face. A mash of thoughts and distractions entangle my mind.-this is a situation that a majority, if not all, students have been in before. Although there are a few situations that present these circumstances, ultimately school projects produce this situation the most. Nonetheless, attaining an A on a school project and learning from it is not impossible with the right strategy: focus on the goal.

With no goal, the students are not working towards achievement. Most of the time, students do not even understand the purpose of the project, which rolls onto the lack of effort put into the assignment. Once the purpose is discovered, procrastination dominates the mind. Keep thinking like Nike does: "Just do it." The less time it takes an individual completes a task, the more time they have to be stress-free. Additionally, keep motivation in mind and have a prize at the end like playing a video game or eating a scrumptious snack; take short breaks every 20 minutes, but do not forget the job that needs to be completed. With all of this, look at the goal and take it head on. From an a.p. english book report to a first grade science project, having that focal point of always taking one's self back to the goal will result in success.
