Passion for Food by Patricia - January 2013 Scholarship Essay
Running towards the boxes of goodness, I can already hear my peers and teacher saying “pizza girl, pizza girl, pizza girl is at it again” almost as a sign of encouragement. Huge red dots of crunchy pepperoni, as I take each one off of the thinly sliced bread and left with only the stringy cheese that oozes with flavor as I devour each slice, is when I first discovered my love for pizza, not only that but my true passion for food. Fifth grade was the time, that nickname has stuck by me whenever there was a pizza party celebration as a reward for our hard work. Ever since then, I have come to the realization that food is where my heart belongs, and it is something that makes me happy. This is exactly the reason being Le Cordon Bleu is my dream college. With a small atmosphere and surroundings of kitchens, being able to see smiles after someone tastes my food and represent my own imagination on a plate is what I long to do. This college will provide me with a hands on learning experience, which will teach me specific tasks in order to get to the direction in my life that I wish to go to. It all began with pizza, but it will end with pursuing my dreams of becoming a chef.
