My future aspirations by Paris - February 2019 Scholarship Essay

My vision of my future dream job has changed drastically over the past few years. I'm constantly trying to find what I'm interested in doing for the rest of my life and it's difficult. It's difficult to base my current interests and project them into an uncertain, yet long-term project in my future. However, I've managed to articulate my interests into a job that I could see myself enjoying for a long time.

A creative art director. That is what I desire to be. I am an artist and I know that I will need to do something creative with my life or else I will be miserable. There is also a part of me that wants a little corporate power so why not be a director or a manager or a CEO while I'm at it. I want to be revered as somebody powerful and important for my dream job, but I also want to be connected with my roots as a artist. I have a lot of aspirations for my future self rather than for my dream job. I believe self improvement will lead to a more successful future, which is why I'm correlating my thoughts with my work.

Multiple skills are interlaced within this job, and they are skills that I'm interested in obtaining in college: communication/people skills, business administration, computer science, and art/design. I hope to become well-versed in the studies that are unknown to me, and also, learn more about the studies I do know. I'm excited to be immersed in business and computer science because they are subjects I've never taken in high school. I want to be diverse in my abilities so I can be available for multiple job positions in my future.

Being a creative art director would mean the world to me, and I hope through hard work I can obtain it. I want to put in the work to achieve my dream job, and I know the college experience will benefit me.
