Why I should be employed to do anything I want by Palak - August 2017 Scholarship Essay

If I were a college professor, I would teach a class that does not follow any category at all. I would teach a class that is focused on self-discovery and about the discoveries I made and continue to make throughout my life.
You may, understandably, have numerous questions. To begin, you may be wondering who would even want to listen to me talk about these discoveries that do not follow any visible structure or flow. You may be wondering what could I possible have to offer to college students. You may be wondering who would even want to employ me as such a professor. To be completely truthful, I really do not know the answers to these questions. What I do know, is that the reason I am attracted to the idea of this class is how it closely imitates life. Life is tumultuous and unique for each individual. I see this course as a way to connect with others and build one another up to become better than we all were the day before. To discover new things about the world, the people we share it with, and about ourselves and how self-examination and awareness is a key component to living and something that many go through life exploring in a very secluded manner.
I see this course as a way to exercise the teachings I have learned from wise individuals around me who wished to further awareness and truly live. Not just breathing, eating, sleeping, or any other bodily function, but to truly live and occupy all facets of their being and to occupy these facets as a more sound being.
Why should I be paid to lecture this “subject?” Who would pass up an opportunity to be paid?
