The Future of Our Education by Ozair - July 2022 Scholarship Essay
Education is the best way to advance as a society. Having a strong education can lead to people having easier and more comfortable lives. While the United States education is not the best in the world it has got us through the hardships we have endured up until now. But in the future, I hope we can do better. In the next 10 years, I hope to see a more hands-on cooperative style of learning and a more efficient and cheaper system of education.
I remember every since elementary school group projects have been some of my favorite school assignments. While you occasionally get a partner that makes you do all the work, I appreciated how hands-on social projects are. Group projects teach kids how to work with one another in turn making them more social and comfortable talking to others. This is relevant in this day in age because once you get a job, depending on what you chose to do, you will most likely have to work with other people. And group projects teach kids how to deal with certain types of people and get their work done as efficiently as possible. This leads to a smoother-running society and a more enjoyable education system.
As colleges are getting more and more expensive high school students are having to go into debt from an early stage in life just to get a basic education for a passion they want to pursue. While we do live a capitalist society where we find this normal, it can set peoples mind to say that debt is fine as long as you pay it back. And while that may be good for banks, for everyone else it can be quite a hassle and we can lose efficiency as a society.
Many things factor into a good education system and there are a lot of things that can be worked on. But the two points that I have made of more cooperative and hands on learning and more efficient and cheaper education can help us soar to the next level of society. I honestly believe that these two things can be done int he next ten years it is just a matter of if we want to do.
