I would like to have dinner with President Lincoln for the reason that I could ask questions about the Civil War. History is told by the winning side and unfortunately we taught that the South was wrong in seceding from the United States.
President Lincoln tried to keep the peace when he became president. It would be an honor to ask questions and to receive answers and his opinions, since they most likely won't be as biased as most Northerners'. It would be interesting to hear about the war and the politics through his perspective, because that was a very different time. I could even talk about the end of the war what was his reaction when it was done.
If there is time I could ask him about the play and if he knew about the assassination plot. Most likely it will a no, but I'm curious. Presidents usually encounter attempts on their life, and I wonder if he had encountered multiple threats.
I may even tell him how the 21st century is going, if he chose to ask. Because he might be curious on America has become. I would definitely be interested on how he feels about the changes that the U.S. has undergone. That would be what I hope to be able to talk about with the president.
