You and I, We Succeed In College. by Niharika - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
“The aim of the college, for the individual student, is to eliminate the need in his/her life for the college." Says George Horace Lorimer. As of this generation, college is important for all those students who want to initiate their future in a well-educated manner. College doesn’t just help you get your degree, further, it would help you get lots of opportunities: it will help you mingle with the society; it will help build your analytical skills for when you enter the real world, and it will help open your doors for job opportunities. Moreover, college isn’t just for those who plan to take advanced placement carriers, but also for the ones who want to be successful without it.
Legitimately, college is something really important for my career after high school. Since, I’m planning on either being a Biomedical Engineer, a Doctor or an Accountant. I believe college wouldn’t just help me increase my ability to think abstractly and critically, or help me gain more (advanced) knowledge about my career, in addition, it would train me to stand on my own feet when I go to the outside world, through that it would train me to mingle with everyone and many other real-life trainings. “Depending upon what career path, a student wants to take… college is important for those who want to head-on to a more advanced degree.” Says Amy Brinker. Sometimes, it would more likely be important based on what career you choose: Doctor, Lawyer, Nurse, Pharmacist, Engineer, CPA, Accountant and so on. Because if you’re desired about a dream that needs more education, and results in a better lifestyle, then college would most likely be worth it for you. In fact, people with a higher education have chances of getting job opportunities and higher salaries as well.
On the other hand, college isn’t just for those who want to pursue an advanced placement career, as well as, it would even help a person who plans to be successful by not choosing it. Furthermore, it would help many students that haven’t decided what they want to be. “I had no clue what I was going to be until I went to college to find what best fits me and it did,” Says Abdul. Now, you may ask, what do I mean by analytical skills? For instance, let's say you have a problem that needs in-depth research. By having an experience in college, you would more likely be able solve that issue, through the knowledge that you gain in college just like Abdul did. “Honestly, college did build my problem solving skills,” Says Abdul. You will gain critical thinking skills, communication skills, problem solving skills, and etc. “I wouldn’t have been able to solve one/many specific issue(s) with the things I learnt in and without college.” Says Abdul.
As per “Why is Education So Important in Our Life” website says that “Education makes us capable of interpreting things,.. It is about the lessons of life.” A person will definitely face obstacles during their journey, the knowledge that a person gains from their college will help them to overcome the problem by solving it or that person will at least have an idea in-order to get started. You will be able to learn a lot through it.
Again, college is important because it isn’t just for those who want to try an advanced field, but also, who want to be successful without it. It will help you build a lot that will help you in your future: communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, job opportunities, being able to stand on your own feet, and etc. Personally, I would strongly recommend college especially for those who plans to be successful in their life.
