Professors have the influence to mold and shift great minds! In today’s society, with the challenges we face, I believe a professor should be passionate about the task at hand. If I had the opportunity to be a college professor in this day and time, my passion would be to teach the art of Self-Publishing/Indie Publishing. There are so many reasons why this class is absolutely needed, especially for those who will be instrumental in shaping the development of the world.
The publishing industry has shifted tremendously since the beginning of the e-book. In my opinion, Indie Publishing is in its own way a revolution of sorts. People no longer have to spend hours sending letters begging someone for validity. Independence is freedom! As a humanitarian, I am passionate about helping others with a voice to achieve a way to optimize their platform. This skill is a must now more than ever in any field.
As an author, I was disappointed in the lack of resources that would have helped me build my platform sooner and more efficiently. I would love to show people how to find success in this field. I would teach students how to avoid the type of success that comes at the expense of making many mistakes and very long hours of research. This sort of “grind” can be avoided for many people who truly have a passion to shift the development of the world. My hope would be to help my students create a narrative that would positively enhance the world forever!
