Turning This Crazy Life Around by Nathan - July 2019 Scholarship Essay

Education is a passion for me, but it’s hard to achieve a good one when I have to slave away wrapping burritos for 40+ hours every week at Taco Bell, giving me no life to enjoy and the inability to write scholarship essays. The minimum wage I make isn’t enough for the $12,000 a year that my school is charging me in Tuition alone, which my parents can’t help me with anymore unfortunately. All this, and a few losses in my life have made me practicing a pursuit of a passionate education hard.

First things first, let’s clear the air, fast food is no easy job. It’s scummy, it’s stressful, and your co workers are extremely rude. That, and because of a nationwide shortage of tortillas, we won’t even be able to make burritos soon. How’s that going to work?

Secondly, the $9000 that the college expects my parents to put into my costs isn’t coming. My mom can’t afford it anymore because she’s also paying for my two twin brothers who are also going to college, and my dad can’t help pay because he doesn’t want to.

Lastly, it’s been hard with all the traumatizing events that have happened to me lately. My cousin fell off a cliff while hiking in the upper peninsula of Michigan, my cat got ran over twice by two different cars, and I broke both of my arms when the floor in our bathroom collapsed from underneath me.

As you can see, I could really use the $200 reward. It will give me a platform so that I can begin fixing this train wreck of a life I have here.
