The Work we Put In by Nathan - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
I graduated Class of 2018 from my High School Science Leadership Academy and my Senior Quote was "Guys, we graduated just to go to school again..." I found it to be funny but very true and the intentions from my classmates met my expectations of what I was trying to get out of the quote. But I do find it true because not only am I going to school again, but there are other responsibilities I have to attain in order to make my future education happen. I have to get good grades so I can go to college, achieve getting a significant amount of money if you’re unable to pay for tuition each year etc. All this just so I can continue my education further. It’s hard but it’s also something I'm not going to easily give up on.
What it also says about me is that it adds on another 4 years of school just to get your undergraduate and extra if you’re a graduate student and need to stay at the college/university to pursue your masters or doctorate/PH.D. It goes to show that the work you put in doesn't stop. Even after college, you could be using your bachelors, masters, or PH.D. to get a job that's significant in your major but the job requires you to do training or to take a class on what your job requires for you in order to start. No matter what, it's a lot of work and we have to put in work because that’s just the way life goes. But at the end, things will get a little bit easier and you’ll be done with the hard stuff and you'll look back on what you did and the fact that you never gave up on what you were destined to accomplish is an achievement.
Overall, what this quote says about me is that no matter what, I am a hard worker who has a right to pursue an education despite the difficulties of insufficient funds towards a tuition I can’t pay for or my grades or test scores telling me who I am as a student and not letting me get into a college or a major program I intended on getting in. Nothing really defines us except the work we put into things. That defines you who you really are physically and academically. Never giving up is the key too and I know for a fact that that’s the only option I’m willing to have right now and forever.
