Education, a dream of the brave
Education is one of the main pillars in my life, because my parents have taught me that knowledge is the door, to open a new world with a variety of opportunities. One memory that taught me the importance of education was in high school when I was searching about the impact of alcohol on the liver, and how our enzymes contributes to an enzymatic process. I had long and fascinating nights rewriting my introduction and it was fascinating making a paper being alive with science.
Being brave and determinant are virtues that encourage my life to pursue every goal that I have accomplished until this day. Now a days is often listening ideas to don’t pursue a career that there might be an easier way to find a job, to be someone in life, to have a good life. I think that life give us the opportunity to choose who we want to be and what impact we are going to produce to people that surround us.
I am a foreign, I moved to the US two years ago, and it has been hard to pursue a career because it is hard to be far from my family, not having an excellent economy to facilitate my studies have discouraged many times. I have determined in my heart that I will be a professional in Oklahoma and I will be a source of inspiration to those who didn’t believe in me , or laugh sometimes because I was the one that didn’t want to forget academic dreams.
It has been two years that I am in college and I decided to study hard day and night to have good grades in order to be accepted by a prestigious university, and being able to have a good future with my husband and provide a safe life to my future kids.
Education is valuable because it helps to become polite with people, knowledgeable to have different type of conversations without feeling intimidated with older people, as I always say knowledge is power, but when we use it to benefit those in need.
I would like to share a personal experience that demonstrate how young people are discouraged to study. My husband and I we are youth leader at a Christian church and we talk with the youth to ask them what their dreams are, and the answer we get is we can’t go to college it is impossible for us, we will fail.
That thought produce something in my soul, and I felt the desire to support them in that path. So, what we did with my husband is inviting the youth that are close to graduate and we help them to search on community college and technology center what short careers they have and encouraging them to try this path because having a career is a safe guarantee that in the future they will have a better job.
I can conclude that education is a valuable treasure that allowed me to grow as a person and as a future professional. I will like to transmit this inheritance to my kids, to fight bravely for their education, and to be example of the next generations.
