In the four year college experience, all students should be given an opportunity to study abroad but it should not be required because not all students need that option to help with their future career. Like I said before, studying in a foreign country should definitely be open for all students to take part in if they have the desire to. It is a very good opportunity for students to learn and experience culture but it should not be required. The reason it should not be required is because some people do not want to spend a significant amount of time going somewhere they do not need or want to go to because it will not help their major and their future activities/career. Students who have a major such as business do not need to travel to learn how to do their job. Also a major such as psychology will most likely require students to work with people in their country because of language barriers. They do not have to see anything in a foreign country because it will not help them with math, communications, etc. Although, students with a major such as art or a foreign language major most definitely should travel to learn their practice because those majors entitle you to travel to put yourself in a place of culture and new languages. An example of that would be a Spanish major having to travel to Spain to learn the culture and fully understand the language by being completely immersed in it. Studying in a different country is an overall amazing experience but it is not something that everyone would want to experience during their college career.
Students should have to the optional opportunity to study abroad and to conclude, students should be given the opportunity to study abroad but it should not be required because a lot of people do not need or want to study abroad because it is not necessary to help them with their major.
