Sing a Song by natahlie - May 2016 Scholarship Essay

As a senior in high school, school has been one of my top priorities and I always strive to do the best I can do. I have been an honor roll student for all four years of my high school career, a part of the girls’ varsity soccer team, a soccer travel team, and a member of the California Scholarship Federation. Studying is the most significant tool to success. Students find studying difficult after a long day at school and a hard practice, which is why I found a way to study and keep me entertained as well. While I study I sing my notes out loud and find a rhythm to help me memorize my notes.
Singing keeps me awake and alert while studying and preparing for my tests. I get distracted easily while studying, but singing keeps me interested. While taking my tests I can refer back to the way I studied my notes and the rhythm I had while singing, which then helps me remember what I studied. Tests are not difficult when studying is done the right way. Singing might not be the most effective method for everyone, but singing is what helped me pass most of my tests in high school.
Studying does not always have to be a bore, there are different ways to study, mine just so happens to be singing. I am not the best singer in the world, I could possibly be the worst, but that does not stop me from singing my way through tests. I also take my favorite songs and use their rhythm to sing my notes, now every time I listen my favorite songs I remember my notes.
My method of studying is enjoyable and creative, yet this might not be true for everyone. I am entertained by singing and if I can be amused while studying then I will give any innovative method a try.
