I live for this quote and it inspires me whenever I am feeling like giving up on life and whenever I become fearful of something that tries to stop me from moving forward. I also like this quote because it speaks to my soul. My life growing up was rough. I endured a lot of emotional pain and trauma that carried into my adult years. I struggled emotionally to find myself while trying to fit into what society portrays we should be this only made life more difficult. I blamed every negative thing on my past which caused a pity party for myself. In a way this made me comfortable with being in this sunken place. I chose to stay stuck, not moving forward in my life. It wasn't until I had a spiritual awakening so to speak, that I had this shift in my life. I began to heal my old childhood wounds, I began to love myself and appreciate life for what it was and I started to live under an unconditional love. By doing this it helped me come to this place of letting go of what no longer served me. That included the negative thinking, the self shaming, the low self esteem and self hatred. I had to come to a different place realizing that no matter how my life was, the pain I endured, the abandonment I felt, that life only was that way to prepare me for greater thing. But most importantly, if I never experienced that I wouldn't be the person I am today.
Today, I can say life is different for me. I live for my purpose today and everyday. My passion is to help heal others so I am taking the necessary steps to do this. Sometimes all it takes is something dramatic and life altering to shift your mentality and the passing of my grandmother caused my shift. She was the only person in my life at that time who I can talk to, who understood, and never judged me. Through her passing I discovered I can live out the rest of my days on earth the way I want but it was only through me that it was possible. I came to a knowing that it was I who controlled my destiny. So I became very aware of the energy I put out in the universe and the people I allow in my life. I want positive influences my life that will add to the greatness in my life. So yes, this would be my yearbook quote because this is so true to my life and anyone who have experienced the same. This quote can help change your life.
