Social media has made convinced me to study Chemical engineering. I want to figure out how to reform chemicals and raw materials into products that humans can benefit from. I also want to design and improve the development processes of these products. I want to work on food production and develop strategies to enhance food quality. I want to challenge the environment by developing systems that reduce pollution work to increase the efficiency of energy sources such as oil and gas or develop fibers that make clothing more sustainable. Chemical engineers have discovered important radioisotopes. I have written and sent several public messages to spread indoor/outdoor pollution awareness to families and communities. Social media has advanced education by making available informative groups and websites for learning. Examples include; TedEd, Academia.edu, and Edmodo.
TedEd offers a variation of TED Talks with shorter, often-animated clips of subjects such as science, technology, social studies, literature, language, art, health, psychology, and business and economics. With communities and clubs, the site also makes it effortless for collaboration. Edmodo acts as a playground for teaching and learning with a place for posts, calendars, and general communication for teachers and students. Linking to students becomes simpler and more efficient as well as more effective when students enjoy the presentation of it. It makes it easy to share valuable apps with students. For academics whose main goal is to share research papers, Academia.edu draws a crowd of over five million visitors. Academics can monitor the effectiveness of their research and monitor the research of the other academics that they follow. It is a great tool for anyone needing data and information on various subjects and interests.
Social media also has its disadvantages, which include cyber-bullying, pornography, and racism. Many people use social media for explicit purposes, which include advertising pornography, showing sex-related tapes, or selling sex toys. They use it because they know that social media is modernizing and most people use it. Thereby, making profits from this illicit act. Suspects also use this for cyber-bullying, to show dominance over their peers or younger people. They do that just to make themselves feel good, and because they can. Another illicit act is racism. Racism is no new matter that has been heard off. People use this to show their dislike ness or hate towards another race, simply because they can. This in turn leads to fights and threats. Social media users need to be educated on what is right and awareness needs to be spread to avoid continuous illegal acts.
