A Forum of Education by Morgan - February 2018 Scholarship Essay

A space where students can connect from all different places around the world about what they are learning in school. A forum is typically a place on the internet where people come together to discuss ideas. I believe that forum education will be an integral part of education system twenty years from now.
Today we have similar devices where teachers promote student discussion. These places can be found on classroom websites and even in class through group discussions. However, I believe that through applications like synergy in children's learning where one teacher can teach three classrooms and three different schools, we will begin to learn more about connecting classrooms and making it possible for large group discussions. Our educational society is going to look toward upon cohesive group in class discussions with other schools. With improved technology we will be able to reach greater lengths.
Similarly, in today's society schools are teaching students that there are multiple viewpoints on what people are experiencing. Schools will start to introduce multiple forum discussion that includes people from all different backgrounds, thus providing students with a broader knowledge about what others think on certain topics. This is important in the effort our society has on trying to separate negative viewpoints and respect other people’s opinions. This year I had the opportunity to be in a class where our teacher was teaching at a school 30 minutes away. While we didn’t have a lot of in class discussions, I believe this leads a path to connecting countries and classrooms together.
A forum will be monumental in the educational style in 2038. We are already promoting group discussions, and teaching students to accept different viewpoints. What better way, than to introduce a person who has had different experiences and different beliefs. Plus, how cool would it be to be in a class talking to a student that’s on a different continent?
