How my Education will help my future by Monty - March 2025 Scholarship Essay
The most meaningful endeavor I have undertaken during the past three years involves coaching track and field to kids with special needs. I had the privilege at the age 15 to volunteer at a local organization that delivers athletic training for disabled children. My experience taught me multiple important lessons combined with the feeling of fulfillment through my work with special needs children. Special needs athlete coaching demanded that I modify training approaches to reach the abilities of each child while simultaneously providing support and encouragement. I offered personal workout routines to each participant because they faced different obstacles, and I built their coordination alongside their strength development and endurance improvement. I established their self-assurance through praise of their minor accomplishments, which furthered their advancement. It brought great satisfaction to observe their motivation as they achieved their developmental benchmarks. Through my involvement, I gained a complete understanding of fostering inclusion. I became more committed to making sports and education available to all people with disabilities as I strive to create adaptive programs that empower people with disabilities.
My experience has shaped my methods for solving problems in computer science. I now seek to create available technology solutions that will help people with disabilities. I aim to leverage my skills through assistive software, AI-driven accessibility features, and adaptive learning tools to create positive impacts in the lives of others. My experience working with special needs children broadened my viewpoints about inclusion and gave me an added drive to use technology as a tool for social advancement. My experience guided me toward my career aspirations in computer science, which came to life when I understood how essential accessibility must be as part of modern technology design. The Center (2021) influenced me to pursue the creation of AI-driven assistive tools that would enhance communication while also improving mobility and learning possibilities for people with disabilities. Software development and application creation are my focus because they will enable students with disabilities to participate better with educational digital resources. The development of my professional goals includes creating AI speech recognition tools together with adaptive learning systems and independent daily life technology. The use of technology enables me to give people power while cultivating an inclusive global environment. The experience of coaching special needs children through technological software transformed my service commitment toward social good by deepening my passion for using technology for positive change. By experiencing this work, I learned about the power of minor actions to spark major changes, and I will preserve this professional passion in my future career.
