The purpose of an education is to challenge yourself. Seeking a higher education forces you to challenge yourself to question everything you thought you once knew, and to see the world from different perspectives. It affords you the opportunity to challenge yourself to discover what you’re passionate about. Education provides you with all the tools you need to challenge yourself to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

Generally people go through life applying the knowledge that has been passed down to them from their parents. Our parents are our first teachers. The way they see the world shapes the way we see the world. It’s not until we start establishing connections outside of our family network that we become exposed to various cultures, values, and ideas. This exposure allows us to gain perspective on how others see the world and think critically about our own ideologies. The essence of learning involves questioning what you know. Once you pose a question, the journey towards finding the solution often leads to individual growth and an increased awareness of the world. Continuing education allows access to teachers who guide us through this discovery process and teach us how to use our knowledge, skills, and abilities to change the world.

We start school learning basic skills. From reading, to writing, to math, our education is general and far reaching. The longer we continue to progress in our education, the more opportunities we have to customize our learning and specialize in the topics that are truly of interest to us. When you discover your passion, you truly are able to excel not only in your studies, but in life. School is where we develop organizational skills, social skills, and learn to conceptualize the relationship between hard work (homework) and rewards (grades). When these skills are paired with something that you are passionate about, anything can happen. The sky is the limit.
