Here's to the Next Ten Years by Molly - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
Ten years seems to be such a stretch away, when, in fact, it really is not. I have spent over ten years of my life in a school learning, absorbing, and relishing in new information. But what about the next ten? In ten years I will be twenty seven years old and right now that seems like such an absurd idea, but I want to have a job with a corporate law firm defending clients. I want to be married with children and a house and maybe even a dog or a cat. But how will I get there? What can I do?
The answer is education. Education is the key to all successes in life. I plan to go to college for four years to pursue a double major in political science and business and after that I want to continue on into law school. I never want to stop learning. There would be no way that any of my dreams would be possible without an education and a dedication that I will hold myself to in order to propel myself into a higher education.
I would not be able to afford a home or children without the proper schooling to receive the job that I wish to have. I would not be able to enjoy life with financial stability without an education. Education has brought me so far in a mere seventeen years. Just wait for the next ten. I will do great things through the power of my education. In ten years, I will be successful.
