College Means Everything! by Miranda - June 2013 Scholarship Essay

Many people decide to go to college but for some it isn't the right choice. I know for me that it is the right choice and path to take to further my educational and future career. I may have learned a lot in school but college can expand my knowledge even more. I attended NCOC Boces for Culinary Arts. This is a Vocational/Technical School with many different hands on programs. I chose Culinary Arts because I have wanted to become a chef for a very long time. I knew I had to choose an excellent school with an exceptional culinary program to make me succeed. I am going to be attending SUNY Delhi in the Fall for Culinary Arts. Without college, I think I would be lacking the knowledge I need to further myself in my career choice. College means everything to me because not only can I learn more about the field but I can also make new friends and have a good time before I really am on my own with no one but myself. I also want to go to college because my dad didn't go to college and my mom only went for a short amount of time before she left. She regrets it everyday and wants to not have me make the same mistake. This gives me the motivation to attend college and follow my dreams.
