Game Plan by Minasha - March 2020 Scholarship Essay
For the next three to four years I will be pursuing my degree in Human Resources which will be helpful for me since I plan on becoming an Employment Attorney. I need to know all there is on Human Resources from why people get hired to fired. Beyond Academics I will continue to work at my job to pay for other vital things that I may need like clothes or pay my bills. I also will continue volunteering, to me it is fun and a stress reliever because I get to channel all my negative energy into something positive a product that I can be proud of. When I volunteer I usually get involved in food donations, item collections or food packaging, clean ups and walks. I also plan on visiting my family back in Trinidad when my studies would allow me to take care of them and spend time with them because they make me laugh and smile and in the end of the day they are all that really matter.
Helping people has always been a passion for me and as the days progress there’s always one person out there that just can’t seem to help themselves whether it’s financially or physically. To me, as humans we have to look after one another because we are all we have, that’s why I volunteer to help those who need help whenever I can find time. Not only would I be taking care of my family but those who stood by me and supported me I would look after them more than I am doing right now. I want to defend people through the legal system and make sure they are in good hands. Being a victim of bullying I know exactly what it’s like to be held accountable for things I’ve done and didn’t do and not having anyone to fight for me. Majority of the things of my life I had to work for, not many things as easily as it did for others. Getting your scholarship would help a lot to get me to where I need to go in life.
Brave, strong, smart and outgoing is what I like to think of myself as. Living comfortably in a nice home, eating good, having a well paying job, and family is taken care of. That’s what I dream about, my family has sacrificed so much for me to be successful, I do not want all their hard work and sacrifices to go to waste. From a young age I knew I was supposed to be helping other people. I believe that as humans we are all we really have and we need to look after one another. People that I looked up to when I was younger and had dreams of being a toll collector always told me to focus on my studies and everything will fall in place, they were not well known people but they were well accomplished from what they came from, they taught me life lessons that were instilled in me from a young age. I do not come from a wealthy family but I do make the most of any situation thrown my way and handle it graciously. If I were given this scholarship it would be an amazing contribution to my Bachelors Degree which is a significantly large building block to my dream job of being an Employment Attorney. After I land my dream job I will help my community with other kids and their dreams
