Procrastination by Mikaela - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
After a long day of school and work, it is nice to go home and sit down. I'm tired and all I want to do is get on my phone, watch TV, work on music, or simply do something that I want to do. Suddenly, my hour long time to myself turns into me doing what I want until 11 O'clock that night. I'm now too tired to do homework or get ready for school tomorrow so I say I'll do that work tomorrow at school or the next night, but the same thing seems to happen over and over again. Senioritis hit in the form of procrastination. As I kept procrastinating, I realized something needed to change, so my New Years Resolution this year is to stop procrastinating.
By creating myself a daily schedule with times set to get my daily tasks done, I now am making myself do things on time. This New Years Resolution will help me in so many ways. For one obvious reason, I will do better in the end of my senior year as I will get my assignments done at a good time. I will be better prepared for the day as I don't have to go to school worried about the assignment that I didn't finish or the Lack of sleep I got trying to finish the assignment. This will also help me in my future at college because by working to attack procrastination now, I will be better prepared to not fall behind in college when I move out by myself. By cutting out procrastination and doing things on time, I will even be better prepared to live on my own and pay bills, do tasks for work, and simply be on time and ready for things that I enjoy doing.
By making cutting out procrastination as my New Years Resolution, I will open so many doors for me and I will not only be ready to conquer senioritis, but also the rest of my life.
