Everlasting Knowledge by Miguel - September 2018 Scholarship Essay
I can envision myself still finding ways to expand my education and knowledge by continuing my education even further and earning more than one degree. There is many ways to expand your knowledge with one of them being education.I plan on continuing to enlarge my education by not limiting what I learn in my work area. I will continue to seek knowledge and learn more about business management for as long as I work in that job community. I am not going to limit the amount of things I can learn from business management, and I will only try to learn more from other people. I will do this by learning from other people that are in the same work area and asking questions to more experienced businessman to extend my knowledge on the subject. Another way I can build on my knowledge on the subject is by using online courses as a resource to learn more about marketing, entrepreneurship, and business management. Another resource that I will use is mentors and successful business firms and companies to learn from them.
By the time I have turned of age 41, I will have expected to have my own business by then, and have time to learn something new. I am also planning on learning about real estate or going back to school to earn another degree in pre-veterinary. In addition to all the core courses I want to study in college, I am going to take various science courses to earn my pre-veterinary degree. I am not just doing this for me but to one day be able to give back to the broken down city I was born in, and give hope to the kids growing up there that college and chasing an education is a choice for them. Although I grew up in poverty, I want to be able to break that chain by enhancing an education. I will still value education and want to continue learning 25 years later because it has given me an opportunity to live a financially stable life. Another reason I want to continue learning at that age is because it will set a good example for my family and show my children the value of education. It will also give them strong morals and values since they are going to learn how important education is, and how it should always be seeked. I want to show them that education should never be taken for granted, and should make them realize how valuable it is.
Next, I am going to continue to read at least 30 minutes a day to help improve my vocabulary expansion, memory improvement, and better writing skills. It will also help me to keep me absorbing information and improving my analytical skills. This is also very essential because all the concepts I learn from books can be applied on an everyday basis to all the tasks and work I have to complete. I also want to work out at least three times a week and learn as much as I can about health and fitness. I want to be able to stay healthy at this age so I’m going to continue working out and improving my understanding on the human body and all the aspects of fitness. I plan on using trainers and online resources to improve my understanding and knowledge on exercise. I also plan on not limiting my languages to only two but being able to learn another language. I am going to take classes to be able to learn to speak Arabic and Vietnamese. This will give me something to keep learning about and will give me mental benefits. It will also allow me to enhance my knowledge and to build my education. Lastly, allowing yourself to go on and learn a new language will help you diversify yourself and get you involved in other cultures therefore expanding your knowledge on the way other groups of people live.
In conclusion, knowledge is infinite, and your age should not have any correlation to the amount of wisdom you allow yourself to acquire. I believe that you should challenge yourself to learn and build on your education regardless of how old you are. I don't plan on ever putting an end to my education regardless of how old I get. If I continue to increase my education 25 years later, I will live a much more joyful and rich life as a knowledgeable individual. One of the most valuable things a human has to offer is his time, and how he uses it is differentiated from person to person. I believe that one of the most wise ways to use your time is finding different ways to enhance your learning, and always find something to learn more about. Lastly, knowledge is an aspect of life that should never be limited to anyone, and should always be seeked and valued for its worth and purpose of improving and ameliorating our lives. In 25 years, I want to see myself taking every opportunity I can possibly get to learn something new and always build upon my knowledge.
