 As I sat in the living room, I intently griped the book as i turn each page. My parents watched in amazement as I read for hours. I wanted to finish the book, it was so good, and I just could not put it down. When I finished the exceedingly amazing story my parents were shocked. I had finished a book and I enjoyed reading it. Honestly, I don't enjoy reading. I would always complain about book reports and reading assignments, but this book was excellent. It made me want to read more and made me enjoy reading. 
This book was called “A Child Called It” by Dave Pelzer. It told the story of a innocent boy that desperately tried to survive the everyday abuse from his own mother. A story that breaks your heart with ever page you turn. Furthermore, it gives us a look on the abuse that happens all over the world. It taught me a great lesson about books. They can give you a different perspective and show us a different world from our own. Books give us the chance to put ourselves in others shoes. Stories can teach, grow, and change us. This is one that is very sad, but it is honestly the best story i have ever read.
