My Strategy for Success by Michael - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

So I've just been assigned a project for school. Whether it be a group project or an individual project, everyone has a strategy in mind. There are those that believe that the day before the deadline is the time to get started and there are others who like to start early. You have a strategy and regardless of whether or not it is successful, it is yours. However, it is never too late to build on your strategy and make it perfect for yourself so that you are successful in the long-run. Keep in mind, there is no such thing as "The Perfect Strategy" that works for everyone, everyone is unique in how they tackle an obstacle. That is why I am going to share my ultimate strategy that has never failed me when completing projects in high school and college.
For those of you early starters, you're in luck because starting on your project the day you are given it is very important. When I start my project I make sure to take into consideration how much time it will take for me to complete it and how much time I can dedicate to it daily by writing it in a planner. Time management is key when I work on a project. Dedicating two hours daily in the span of a week has given me a more high-impact project rather than dedicating ten hours in one night the day before the project is due and not performing to my best potential.
When I've finished managing my time and have set my goals, I make sure to put myself in an environment with minimal distractions. I like to go outside or to a library because my cat is very needy and will leap on anything in my line of sight just to get my attention.
I like to collaborate with my peers when the project is based on the same topic amongst my classmates, it motivates me to engage in conversation on the topic and gather more information than I could have on my own.
Eating beforehand is a must for me before I start a project. Working on something with a full stomach always keeps me focused and gives my brain the power to function at its full potential.
Lastly, being motivated is very important on everything I work on, especially when it came to school projects. No matter what the subject the project is based on, I look into it until I find something that interests me so that I can get fired up and complete the project successfully and concisely. It doesn't matter what your motivation is, as long as it gets you fired up always make it a habit so that you are engaged in what you're working on.
This is my "Ultimate Strategy" and if there's anything I've learned when working on school projects, is that your strategy will only develop more and more as you continue your education, and as long as you are willing to take the initiative and continue to grow, you can also formulate your own "Ultimate Strategy"
