There are million different definitions of the phrase “thinking outside of the box” and yet, each of us would describe it in roughly similar ways. It means to be unconventional, to delve deep inside our subconscious minds, into a realm of untapped ideas. It means to be unique, in every sense of the word, and to embrace impracticality and differences.
We currently live in a society that places value on the ability to create, with the ever growing number of social media influencers to the expanding library of online archives. That being said, creativity requires a certain level of awareness (of ourselves and the world around us). That’s “thinking outside of the box,” being able to make these invisible connections between the real world and our dreams/imagination. Every aspect of our culture derives from human nature and its unpredictable interactions.
It only takes one person to change our perspective, to change the way we view the world. It can be something as subtle as a new way to approach planting flowers or as monumental as finding a solution to end world hunger. Creativity is born from a need, but grown from an unconventional mentality. It is a like a rose that requires constant and delicate care, but once it blooms, it’s beauty is incomparable. It only takes one person to “think outside of the box” and change to world.
