Learning isn’t something you ever stop doing and there are many forms of learning. You can pick up hobbies later in life or learn from experience. For myself personally, I have many plans for continuing to learn past high school. In 25 years the job I aim to have will require me to learn constantly; I plan to have kids who will teach me and who I will teach, and who will prompt me to learn so I can parent them and take care of them the best way I can; I plan on learning many hobbies, most of which will take years to master. I will likely repeat the process of learning hundreds of times over in those 25 years, and thousands of times over in the years following.
My goal is to work as a Criminal Psychologist. I want to specialize in Behavioral Analysis and hope to get a government job working with homicide cases. This type of job would require me to continue working on my education well past a Bachelors. I will likely need to keep working up to a PHD. I will need to continue to learn the most effective ways to evaluate cases, catch suspects, and do my job overall. I will need to keep training I receive fresh and learn any new training that is needed. This sort of job will keep me learning and on my toes.
I plan on having kids at some point in my life, almost definitely in the next 25 years. My kids will prompt me to learn in many ways. I will have to continue to learn so that I can teach them and help them with their own education. I will always be learning and growing so I can take care of them as they grow and learn themselves. I feel that when I have my own kids they will be a big influence in my life and my learning.
Further, I have many things I want to learn for myself and my own enjoyment. I want to learn French and sign language. I also want to learn guitar and ukulele. I want to continue to do photography, writing, and modeling and keeping learning ways to advance and do even better in those fields: how to take better pictures, how to write stronger stories, new techniques for all. I want to learn how to swing dance. This list goes on and on. There’s is an endless, ever-growing list of things I want to be able to do.
This world is full of opportunities and amazing skills. Why shouldn’t you take every chance, learn everything you can? You have a whole lifetime to learn as much as you can and with the internet there are now inexhaustible ways and places to learn. There are so many apps, websites, and classes; You just need to take the leap. I see no reason not to pursue every dream I have. There’s nothing holding me back. I can learn from an app, in a classroom, or at home. Right now I have my whole life ahead of me to do whatever I please and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
