Classes should put more emphasizes on History. History is important because it decides what happens in the future. What people learn in a class about past mistakes and what they take away from it causes a variety of outcomes. The past is full of great events of kingdoms and governments rising from the ground and falling due to issues like corruption and betrayal. As students learn about these great events, they will start to understand how those conflicts ended up rising and exploding in the long run. As more students become educated, they will start to see what patterns they should stray away from. Learning more about History also helps people become more self-aware and less ignorant about their choices. By learning about the holocaust and the real story behind the “finding” of the Americas, students would start to learn about morality and values and move towards a world where those tragic events led by xenophobia and fear won’t happen again or at least be able to terminate the issue at a faster rate. Though I do want to point out that even though there should be an emphasizes in learning about the past that it should still be emphasized that it shouldn’t be that kids can only think about the past and not be able to move on from it. It should be thought in a way where students learn and really understand the material and be able to move on. They shouldn’t stay stuck on an event in history that happened years ago. Yes, they should always know about the historical events and remember it and strive to make the healthier and stronger future for the upcoming generations yet, students shouldn’t try to bring up an old event that happened in the past and make it a problem in the future. Rather just learn from the mistakes and not let it happen again. Emphasizing more on History in classes is important because it can teach a student about how to improve the future they are creating, and it can also help them develop their values.
