My name is Megha Kondogi, a rising sophomore majoring in Economics at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Growing up in an Asian family instilled in me a deep gratitude for education and its transformative power. With a high school GPA of 3.4 and an impressive leap to 3.94 in my freshman year in college, my educational journey has been one that reflects resilience and constant striving for excellence. These principles, among others, are facets of my character that bring clarity to my motivation and focus in pursuing my academic goals.

The aspiration to one day own a company fuels my relentless pursuit of academic excellence. This dream is not born solely from the impulse of personal gain but from my resolute desire to provide for my family, particularly my younger brother and my parents. They have ceaselessly supported my educational journey thus far, and my ambition is to repay their kindness and love in a substantial way. Moreover, as a woman of Asian heritage, having the opportunity to contribute positively to our world through running a successful company carries with it the potential to inspire other young women and minorities, something I take to heart.

Staying focused, especially in a vast field like Economics, mandates a blend of determination, passion, and the right mindset. Economics, with its vast potential to influence policies and shape the world, captivates me. This coupled with my ambition to own a company creates a dynamic and powerful motivator. The panoramic view of the economic landscape that I get at UT allows me to glimpse into the myriad of possibilities that the future holds. I not only see this as a career, but a life mission that propels me forward, keeps me focused, and continuously hungry for knowledge.

Beyond the classroom, I have found that the journey to academic excellence is not a solitary one. Engaging in team projects, exchange of ideas and constructive debates with my peers have also sharpened my focus. I believe in the power of shared knowledge and collaboration in driving academic goals. These experiences have fortified my understanding of economics and its applicability in the real world.

The dream to start a company that contributes positively to the world, coupled with my relentless pursuit of academic excellence, fires up my motivation.
