A Dinner With Walt Disney by Megan - February 2016 Scholarship Essay

If I had the choice to have dinner with one historical figure it would be Walt Disney. Walt Disney has been in my life from the age I was born, even though he physically wasn't around. His cartoons, movies, and amusement parks kept me happy as a kid. And as I grew up I noticed what a real inspiration he is to me. As a kid Walt Disney found out he was dyslexic and was told he wasn't creative and won’t have a future. So Walt set out on a mission to prove all people who discouraged him wrong. He showed me that no matter what happens and no matter what others say about you or to you, you can always choose where you go in life and how you get there.
At the dinner I would tell him how inspirational he was to me and how he changed the way I looked at life. How he made me want to try again, he got me to never give up again. His life, his story changed not just the way I look at life but the way I will forever live my life. And I will now and forever try to inspire others with his story as well, I won’t let anyone give up the way I did. And I would make sure that Walt understood how much he means to me. I would also ask him how he personally overcame his dyslexia and worked through all the hard ships it comes with. I would mainly just want to thank Walt Disney and let him know that his legacy will forever live on. Also I would want him to know how many other kids lives he has changed. So thank you Walt Disney!
