Population Education Podcast by Meaghan - August 2018 Scholarship Essay

Podcasts are a popular way that people can receive news, follow sports or television related stories, educate themselves on financial or health related topics, and listen to guest speakers on endless subject matters. A topic that I am passionate about that I would focus my podcast content on is working parents returning to school to pursue their education goals. This topic is personal for me, as I am a mom with young children that works on the weekends, and takes classes three to four nights a week. Over the last year of managing this busy schedule, I have come up with time management techniques and organizational skills that would be beneficial to other working parents enrolled in school or contemplating returning to school.
I would host guests that would cover a variety of related topics as well. I would have on financial aid counselors to discuss scholarships and graduate student loans. I would host professionals that specialize in organization to offer their advice. I would also have guests who specialize in promotion of mental well being as health and wellness is a key component to success during this busy time. I think my podcast would offer working parents that are thinking about pursuing their education goals, or that are actively enrolled in school, an outlet and a support system during this busy time in their life. Education is always attainable with the right support and skill sets, and my podcast would assist people with achieving their goals.
