There were two times where I had a challenging academic experience in the 10th and 12th grade. In the 10th grade, I had a D in math. I was angry at myself for never being that good at math to begin. I decided to seek a math tutor at school. At the time, my 10th grade math teacher offered to help any students after school that were struggling with their grade. Since grades were closing for the year, I started to stay after school to boost my grade.
My math teacher was a great person and good at math. He taught me what I did wrong. Step by step, he made up problems for practice and even allowed me to finish past work for credit. By the end of year, my grade went from a D to a B..
A month ago, I had a D in my English. I was close to failing that class if I didn’t retake any of my failed quizzes. My English teacher gave me back all of my failed quizzes and allowed me to try again. He's a really good teacher, he allows retakes for anyone who got below a 70% on tests and Quizzes. It only took a week to bring my grade up from 69% to 85%.
