The field of higher education will welcome me when I select Communications as my major with Broadcasting as my concentration. The choice of this major follows from my constant fascination with media, narrative and how different forms of presentation affect people's worldview. Broadcasting possesses the ability to inform and influence audiences deeply through news and documentaries as well as entertainment content. This medium provides me with an opportunity to share meaningful stories while making unheard voices louder and establishing important connections with public audiences.

Since my early childhood I have shown a natural interest in media communications. My entire childhood was spent watching the news and listening to talk shows while watching documentaries. The storytelling methods as well as their effects on public comprehension of events cultural aspects and societal changes deeply fascinated me. I understood the influence media exercises on public discussions which made me eager to become involved in this field. I aim to find an occupation which enables me to join public dialogues while disrupting traditional views and bringing crucial matters to light. My drive to pursue Communications as a major stems from my fascination with storytelling and the transformative power of media.

Broadcasting holds the utmost promise for me because it enables me to connect with diverse audiences on a grand scale. The fast and efficient information delivery system of broadcasting works through television and radio and online platforms. I find the immediate nature of this medium captivating because our modern society demands quick news updates as events transform rapidly. My goal is to join the fast-moving world of news production by conducting interviews with intriguing personalities and developing programs which will strike a chord with audiences. The broadcasting industry provides an opportunity to work in different formats including news reporting as well as entertainment hosting and documentary production. The multiple career paths available within this field make it highly appealing to me.

The potential media holds to form public opinions stands as a key area where I want to establish my influence. Throughout my life, I’ve recognized how important it is for media to present itself in a representative way. As a biracial person I understand deeply about the lack of representation that people face in media. A Communications and Broadcasting education will enable me to work toward creating media spaces which include all people. My passion lies in sharing stories which showcase different viewpoints and strengthening marginalized voices while exploring neglected topics. Through my work in broadcasting I plan to achieve a better representation of our society by presenting accurate and diverse stories which reflect the different life experiences of its people.

To achieve success in my chosen field I have proactively sought multiple experiences that will help me advance. Serving as both volleyball team captain and student body president during high school allowed me to develop my communication abilities together with leadership skills and organizational management skills. As a member of the **LINK Crew** at my school I work to support freshmen during their high school adjustment process which helps me develop my skills in reaching out to various students. The activities I have participated in have developed my social abilities as well as my capacity to connect with diverse people which is essential for broadcasting careers.

At college, I intend to deeply involve myself with academic learning alongside hands-on projects. My future plans include taking internships alongside joining student media groups while working on practical projects which will help me implement classroom knowledge in real-world situations. The broadcasting industry represents my professional destination because I want to work within news or entertainment or production roles. I aim to bring unique viewpoints into the media sector by developing meaningful content which uses broadcasting as a platform to create beneficial social impact.
I selected Communications and Broadcasting as my major because storytelling fascinates me while media impact interests me and I want to transform global perspectives. This field will help me obtain essential skills to reach audiences while making significant contributions to important discussions and serving diverse perspectives. I intend to use my educational experience to create a path toward a fulfilling career that produces meaningful impact throughout the media industry.
