How I Made an Impact in my School by Mauricio - November 2019 Scholarship Essay

My school is a fairly new school since it was only built about five years ago and is seen as a “smart kid school”, because of the way the students use technology and the looks of the school. When I was a freshman I was only the third freshman class to be at this school, and there was never school spirit in the school and everything just seemed dead. All the students would just go to school take the classes and go go home there was never anything new or as some would say “out there”. All my life I was passionate about one thing, soccer, and that was my way in at school, the soccer team.

At my school there is no football team so the next big team was the soccer team and even for that there was no school spirit at the games or at pep rallies. What I did to positively impact my school and the student body was help out with school spirit and I will tell you just how I did that. What I did was with the help of the team make one hype school pep rally with music and presentations of the sports so people can know what is happening around them and have some type of school spirit. Another thing I did was at games whenever anything would happen I would cheer and the rest of the team followed, and by starting this the people that attended the games would join in and help cheer on the team.

Since the people at the game would actually enjoy the atmosphere at the games more people started to go to the games and this increased the attendance numbers and people that knew about game sand the results. Through helping more people know about the sports at school and increasing the hype during games and pep rallies, I helped increase the school spirit which benefited the overall atmosphere at school.
