Mr. Brumble, A True Example of a Hero. by Matthew - March 2013 Scholarship Essay

Dedication, leadership, intelligence, fairness, and a great sense of humor: all of these are crucial aspects to a great teacher. Mr. Brumble, my drafting teacher possesses all of these critical traits. He teaches five classes at my high school, and I have taken four of those five. Not only does he teach engineering classes, classes that are directly related to my desired career path, he teaches architecture, a skill that has been vital since Ancient Greece. Mr. Brumble, jokingly, is referred to around school to be the father of Chuck Norris, a world-renowned tough guy. Everyone in my high school is convinced that Mr. Brumble taught Chuck Norris everything that he knows. Each and every day in class, we hear of a new story or experience that Mr. Brumble has had in his life. Whether this is a time he experienced in the military or his time working as a mechanical engineer, each and every story that we are exposed to, we are able to learn a valuable lesson from. The impact that Mr. Brumble has had upon my opinions and outlooks on life are transformative. After having a total of four semesters of classes with one teacher, many people would think that there is a point where one is unable to learn anything further. However, with Mr. Brumble as a teacher, there is not a day where someone cannot learn a valuable lesson or idea. Given the fact that our teacher is also a member of the MENSA organization, a high IQ society, we are able to educate ourselves on highly useful and highly advanced topics on a daily basis. There are few people who can have such a massive impact on a group of people than Mr. Brumble can upon his students, and upon me. Because of his intelligence and dedication, Mr. Brumble is the one  teacher who has had the greatest impact upon me and my education.
