Many say that college is the entryway to the real world. Although I realize that there are many successful people out there who have never attended college, personally I feel that I would be best equipped if I was to attend college. I plan to attend Texas Tech University for an animal science major with a focus in beef production. With this degree, I plan to become a beef ambassador. A beef ambassador is someone who explains and teaches the importance of beef production. My work can range from explaining meat processing to kindergarten students to informing ranchers on how to most adequately process cattle. With an animal science degree, I will have many opportunities to better society’s knowledge of cattle. Although this may sound cliche, I will be working to preserve the cattle industry. I know that this may sound dramatic, the cattle industry may be facing a devastating crash, if people do not begin to work to preserve this heritage. I honestly believe that, if I am to adequately explain and teach others on how to economically end effectively raise cattle, I must attend college. I have been raised in a family that has owned and worked cattle for many years. Although I already understand many fundamentals of owning cattle, I feel that I will be best suited for a successful career if I attend college.
