New Year Education Resolution by Marissa - December 2020 Scholarship Essay

This year has been a crazy year for everyone, including me which is why I want to start a new year on thinking more about my future. With education, I am a hard worker that cares about school and wants to make a difference in the world. School has been difficult for the year of 2020 and there is one thing that I lack about school that should change before I go to college.

Students today can lack doing their work, especially if it is a subject they despise. For me, I lack doing work for English. English classes for me have a lot of work that needs to be done all the time and sometimes, I am lazy when it comes to that class. I do not mind reading or writing, but for this subject, I have always done work at that last minute right before it is due. I guess I can be lazy when it comes to this because I have other work that is more important that needs to be done first, so I usually push this subject away until a day before it is due and then I am rushing to get done. When I go to college, I do not want to push stuff away for last minute because I have realized that everything needs to be done at some point. In life, I think people know the concept of it is better to be late than sorry, but I do not want to rely on this statement because then, all my schoolwork will be late. For this coming year, my goal for education is that I need to do my work right away and maybe make a time schedule on when to do every subject during a specific time.
