Many of the classes we have in school are centered on the creative parts of oneself such as an art class and music class. These are very enjoyable during our elementary and middle school years, but once in high school we need to learn more about our lives once outside school. Learning about adult stuff should be at least a choice schools should provide to students even more toward seniors in high school. This elective class should provide information about real world situations. Some examples are buying a house, renting an apartment, debt and how to deal with it, properly getting cars, learning more about public transportation, and many more. Learning and knowing about these things can save a lot of mistakes from being made by people who didn't get the same level of education or people who never knew as people never told them. This would be a great learning experience for many students as it would give them a boost and help them prepare as they would be going to the real world that isn't school.
This information serves useful for going to college as knowing how to sign up, what happens when you have to take some loans, where you can get apartments in case you don't have a place or want to venture out of your parents house, and also as there are out of state universities to choose from. Having these electives offered at different schools can help many students prosper. One of the things I want to accomplish in a few years is buying a house with my friends so we can room and save money so we can have more for our goals. Slowly working up into trying to bring that dream a reality. Having these classes could have taught me where and how to rent a house for when I have the money saved up or have a financially stable employment.
