Art classes should be required courses. Art classes help expand creativity and are just as important as physical education classes, because its exercising your creativity. Creativity is something that you can use in your daily life, especially in the career world. And companies want more creative minds, for problem solving and coming up with out of the box ideas.
It doesn’t matter what art class you take, wether it’s ceramics or painting or graphic design but it’s should be required to take at least three credits of art classes. Even a theatre class would classify, as long as you are able to use creative methods and use expression.
Physical education is a requirement in many schools across the country, while the arts aren’t. A healthy body is just as important as a healthy brain that can think expressively and creatively. Creativity is something that certain classes shut down, like mathematics or certain sciences, because of rules that need to be followed. But having an art class can allow an outlet to expand creativity.
It is also common for companies to want more creative brains in the career world. More creative brains can think outside the box and solve difficult problems.
Overall having a creative mindset is important and art classes can help with that.
