The Lesson that Made an Impact by Maria - August 2013 Scholarship Essay

What is the most interesting lesson that I have learned in the classroom? When thinking about this the first things that come to mind are the things we are being tested on, the information out of the books. The thing is though when looking back in life the lesson I learned in the books help me for the next year, but there not the lesson that have helped me with life. To me the lessons that helped me in life, whether it’s reaching a goal or learning how to live in the real world, those are the more interesting lessons that are to be remembered.
In my experiences in a classroom I have learned a lot of life lessons that have made me the person that I am today, but I think one of the lesson that sticks out the most to me would have to be a lesson I started learning in my 10th grade education class. This lesson which I am still learning today is how to work with other people. In learning this lesson I have learned how to work with people in a team setting where other people impact you and how your grade turns out. It has taught me how to work with people that I may not like or that I may be fighting with, how to be a professional. It has also taught me how to be a leader, but to divide work evenly among the people that you are working with.
In learning this lesson I have gained skills that I will need when I enter into the real world, in job and other organizational settings. This will make me a better person at what I am doing and make me an easier person to work with.
This is one of the lessons that I have learned in a classroom and it is one that I find the most interesting. Not because I learned a really cool fact or I really understood the information that day but because it has made such impact on me as a person and my life.
