“Expect the unexpected'' is a famous quote I had never paid much mind to before this year. At the beginning of 2022 in January I had thought I knew exactly how the next four years of my life would play out. I didn’t calculate for the what if’s that life so casually throws your way. It wasn't until I had to make a tough decision about the cost of a future that I started to think about the curveballs that life could give you. This is inspiring me to go into the new year with a new mindset to plan for as much as I can but to be ready for things to turn out differently.
I am grateful for the way that my life was turned upside down this year. It led me to making tough decisions on life like how I would pay for college and what kind of debt I thought was worth getting. In the end I chose to go to community college to save money and help my mom at home. What I took away from this is that there is not always just one choice in life and there are many pathways you can take. This I hope will give me a new perspective for next year if and when I encounter new problems.
