Traveling 101 by Maria - August 2018 Scholarship Essay

If I had a podcast, I would educate people about traveling. The podcast would not talk just about traveling; it would also talk about how to be polite in other cultures, how to pack for a trip, and how to find the places to eat. Some people do not get the most out of their experience traveling. Traveling has always been a huge part of my life. My goal would be to help other people have great experiences.

The first few episodes would talk about picking the perfect place for you. Everyone wants something different from their trip. Some people want to go on vacation to learn, some want to go to relax, and some people to help others. Some countries fit the criteria for everyone and some counties fit the need for just one requirement.

The next few episodes would talk about how to be polite about in some cultures. Many countries have very different standards for social interaction. When you travel you are being a representative of your country. As a representative, you need to know of some cultural differences between the county that you are going to and where you are from.

After you have learned about the country that you will go to, the next thing to think about is how you will pack for your trip. Most people think that they need to bring everything on their trip. The thing is that most countries have everything that you would need in a grocery store. There is also no need to bring food or safety net items like blankets. The one thing that you also need to do is look at the weather in the country and the season that it there so you know what clothes to pack.

Last but not least to finish the season I would talk about how to enjoy every moment that you have on that trip. Eating bad food can make or break a trip. The shocking thing is some of the best food places are the restaurants that look like a hole in the wall. The place that local residents go to is always better than the touristy food places.

This is what I would want to talk about if I had my own educational purpose podcast. Travel is something that everyone needs to do. You learn from it; you grow as a person, and you make memories that you will never forget.
