Students Should Study Abroad by Marco - March 2016 Scholarship Essay

I believe students should be required to study abroad because it gives the future generation to our society much more cultured and diverse viewpoints in life that may help them for challenges they may have in the future. After all, we are in America, land of the free and home of the brave. Most of our future generation is taught kindness and compassion towards others of any race or religion, without even trying. Many individuals may think that's probably not what they want, maybe to be far away from home or just don't go too well with others. Many of these issues occur within every single one of us, I speak for myself due to the fact of me being a senior in high school getting ready for college. Fortunately for me, I am very sociable, I can be sick or upset, I will never want to locked up in my room or just not doing anything, I want to learn things and add to my based knowledge so that I can probably get close to knowing everything or half of everything. I look forward to attending college abroad so that I can meet new people and know their cultures, lifestyles, food, you name it! I am a very firm believer that the requirement for students to study abroad is necessary because these students need this experience, whether they like it or not, it will be something they need for their jobs and careers later on in their lives. They just don't see it now because they have their own lifestyle that they are comfortable with and are too lazy or uninterested to change for perhaps something much more rewarding. Society needs to look past what is in front of them now and look further to what they can achieve in the future with their potential and skills they wield.
I not only believe, but I know for a fact that students should study abroad because it will help our society grow beyond our dreams and limits, have healthier viewpoints towards the world as a whole, and most important, to have fun growing up into adulthood with the knowledge and information we gained throughout our years of studying and connection with one another.
