Throughout my high school years, I have been lucky to have so many teachers who have impacted me. The one I want to highlight is Miss. Hillary Durie, the English and Composition teacher at my high school. Outside of the classroom I have known her for 5 years. She is a family friend and a member of my church.
Students are always welcomed in her environment where they can ask questions, receive guidance, and someone who always makes time for them. She is always ready to help students when they need it.
Her ability to speak honestly and truthfully to students is admiring. She would never hurt someone's feelings but understanding that students need to hear the truth.
Hillary supported me during a time that I was struggling and needed advice and someone to help me get through the bad moments. The advice that has meant the most to me has been, "don't do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you.”
Last but not least, she mirrors the image of a teacher I strive to become. I hope to become a teacher. I am exactly like Hillary Durie and can make an impact on my students like her.
