Furthering your Education by Madison - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
Once we graduate high school, what's next? Sure, you could go into the military or perhaps straight into the work force. But there's a great resource that not a lot of people take advantage of. College, or University, is the best and fastest way to gain an advantage in the real world. Gaining a higher education helps you discover what you enjoy most, and helps you learn better skills that you wouldn’t have learned anywhere else.
Let's say you're are interested in STEM in high school, but you never had the opportunity to learn what you could do with this interest. College would help you dive further into your interest and discover what you can do with it as a lifelong career. The world is so big and diverse it is way to often intimidating to figure out what your interests and hobbies might be. And it also can be very intimidating to figure out what to do for the rest of your life. The best resource for these daunting challenges is University. University helps students gain real world experience before they fully devote themselves to one thing for the rest of their lives. They can dabble in multiple kind of things to really figure out what they love to do. You can take different classes that aren't even related to any of your interests but discover that it was your true passion all along.
Often enough student can find college and university itself a daunting experience and can be too afraid to stick their toes into the water. But what they don’t know is that there is a multitude of resources to help you with just that. There are people to help you figure out what you're doing and how to do it in the best way possible.
Getting a higher education can really help. Is it for everyone? No, but it is a very amazing resource to further your education and help you discover who you are.
