To a second grader by madison - March 2018 Scholarship Essay

When you grow sometimes people don't let you do things just because you claim you're good at it. Sometimes they need proof. Nurses have to go to school just like doctors do. Helping people isn't easy and you need to know a lot about the human body. If you want to go find dinosaur bones in the earth you also need to go to school for that. Just knowing how to dig isn't enough. You also need to know science and a little bit of history.

Even though you may think that you know it all you don't. Everything that you do requires learning. If you want to create mad science experiments you need to become a mad scientist. You need to know how much silver weighs and what elements (of the periodic table of elements) mix. It is important to continue your learning if you want to go into a specific topic so that you know everything you could possibly need to know. Now some jobs don’t need you to go to extra school, but most of them do. To be a zookeeper you can’t just read a book from the library, although that would be cool. You need to know diet, habitat (where they live) and more. Basically, if you want to be really good at your job, the job that you really want, sometimes extra learning isn’t so bad. Especially when it’s something you like.
