Academic Subject by madison - August 2016 Scholarship Essay

One academic subject that I have learned from the most in High School would be psychology. I chose this class because I was able to learn more about the psychological problems that some to most people go through mentally. Starting with Anxiety, which is very common for most people. Especially students. All the way to schizophrenia, this is a serious mental issue that distorts your reality.
I’ve learned so much in my psychology class, more than any other class that i was in. In fact, this class was my favorite out of all of them. It was really enjoyable because of how interested I was in learning about how and why we do the things we do. On top of being very interested, I had a great teacher to go with it. Besides sitting in a boring class as the teacher rambles on and on about the subject they may be teaching, my teacher for this class was involved with each student. She had us doing in class activities to help our brains become more interested in what we learn about on the day. Bringing hands on experience along with the subject to be learned has helped more students stay interested and focused.
As a student, I have grown to understand more about why someone may be doing something and why that person reacts the way they are. It has brought me more of an understanding to those around me. I know more about how to stay on task and work as a team to accomplish more in a certain amount of time. As I enter college, I will be on my own for learning in a new and more exciting way. Thanks to my High School class, I know how to do so.
