The importance of the 4.0 by Madilynn - August 2022 Scholarship Essay
Some people find academic goals to be as important as New Year Resolutions. I am one of those people. As August pulls around, I find myself making a checklist of all the academic accomplishments I wish to meet. Since this year is my last one before college, I feel this is my most important list yet. And at the top of my list is to maintain my 4.0 GPA.
Maintaining my 4.0 GPA is my top goal for my school year because of scholarships and competitiveness. To start, I was accepted for a scholarship to my dream college that counts on me keeping straight A's. I am paying for college all by myself and college is expensive. Keeping this scholarship is the only way I can afford to go to college, and having the scholarship will allow me to be the first person in my family to go to college. Also, keeping the GPA will ensure I stay in the top 10% of my class. Since freshman year, I have worked my way from 50th to 29th. I do not want senior year to be the year all my hard work goes down the drain. I want to be wearing a rope when I graduate and make my family proud.
Ending my high school experience with all A's would make all the hard work I've put in for the past 12 years worth it.
