Soft skills are things we need as functioning human beings, like people skills and organization. The soft skill that has helped me the most in my education is communication. This soft skill has helped me for a few reasons, one being that it can help you achieve work more efficiently and timely, another being group projects, and finally being working with teachers when you need help.

Using communication to help you get work done is efficient in many ways. Some ways I use it is by telling someone when I need help achieving something and or just by simply saying what I have done and still need to accomplish. Communication is key not only in a workplace but in your education so you don’t fall behind or forget assignments.

Working in group projects can be stressful if you are an introvert, but having communication skills can be fairly easy. Assigning who can do what parts of the project or simply saying “my work is done, I achieved my part. I can help you as well if you need it.” Working in groups can be way less stressful if everyone uses communication.

Going to teachers for help or when you need to talk to them can be intimidating, although if both parties communicate about their needs I find it easier to have a conversation efficiently. If everyone would communicate what they need then I believe as a whole we could achieve even better educations. For example going to your teacher or professor and saying “hey, I had some personal events come up and I am struggling to get the assignment done. Is there any way you can help me understand the topic more to help me complete it.”

Communication is easy but it is something we lack as a society. I think if we all worked on communicating better our lives would be a lot easier to go through. Communication has helped my education a ton. I communicate with my teacher and peers daily to accomplish school work and even more. Communication is key after all.
