Advice experienced in school by Macie - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

Having gaining the experience I received in my 18 years old life, for anyone who is younger than me, here`s a piece of advice that would practically go for anyone at any age. I`m not only providing some advice I`m recalling the most important parts of which to be successful. Students aren`t just forced to go to school and listen to a stranger with a degree in education to sit and stare at the ceiling. No, school is a place that provides life lessons within the teachers criteria. In my 18 years, I`ve learned a lot and faced many challenges. Most of my experience is provided by my time spent in school.
School to many is a institute that the students want to escape from, in meaning that I`m talking about graduation or for some dropping out. Well in my situation I can`t afford to drop out because I have goals I`ve set when I was in just middle school. The advice for the younger students of the next generation whatever you do, don`t sit back and watch the ceiling, get out and about and experience what the school has to offer you. Play sports, join clubs, try something out of your comfortable zone, it`s not as terrible as you think.
Experience is what you gain in the years you spend in school. Also, another piece of advice for the younger population, "Don`t Procrastinate!!!!"(said by every teacher/guidance counselor/ administrators in the education board system). It`s possibly the worst thing for you to do for your assignments and projects. Say you had a project due in three weeks and you get class time and time at home to complete it but you put it off to go play video games. Soon enough it`s three weeks later and you are rushing to complete it staying up all night and drinking energy drinks to keep yourself awake when you could of finished the project two weeks ago. You could of taken your time with the project and could`ve received a higher grade for what you`ve completed since you would of made sure to complete all the criteria.
Advice for the younger generation, meaning life lessons that were taught to me. I personally know I will probably continue to procrastinate on certain things but I know when I should get started on a project. Life isn`t going to get any easier, when my mother was in school which was back in 1975, she had no access to the internet and apps to help her with homework. She had to open a book and study, now we have computers and smartphones to help us be lazy and give us answers. Now I`m graduating in 2016 for high school and I needed to earn 24 credits and pass FCAT testing. Criteria enhances everyday between my mother and I, we have 41 years difference in our education requirements and difficulties.
